It is our mission to improve the quality of life for all affected by mental illness, to support their recovery, and to eradicate the stigma and misconceptions of mental illness. Here are some ways that you can be part of the solution!
NAMIWalks draws thousands of concerned citizens each year who walk together in over 80 communities across the nation to raise awareness and fight stigma regarding mental illness. NAMIWalks is our major fund raiser and primary source of financial support. The next event will be held on Saturday October 6, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas at the Trinity Park Pavilion 1. In Our Own Voice
IOOV presents deeply personal and moving journeys of recovery by individuals living with a mental illness. It addresses awareness in communities about mental illness, empowers persons by providing a path to recovery, presents the real face of mental illness, combats stigma by opening dialogue and increases the visibilities of NAMI as a resource.
Ending the Silence
ETS is an in-school presentation about mental health designed for high school students. Students can learn about mental illness directly from family members and individuals living with mental illness themselves.
Local, State, and Federal Advocacy
NAMI advocacy provides key voice in both public and private sector policies that facilitate research, end discrimination, and improve community response through timely and comprehensive mental health services and support.
